high school apprenticeship program website

Agency Work (Fusion Communications Group)

project

Design a website within the framework of the Manitoba Government website to house existing content about the High School Apprenticeship Program while also directing users into one of three main streams (Student, Employer, Educator) to make it easier for them to access information tailored to them.

As the lead designer on this project, I was an integral part of the team that developed the information architecture for the site. I created desktop designs for each page and mobile designs for each template and handed the designs off to the Manitoba Government development team.

design rationale

The main design considerations of this project were making a unique look for the High School Apprenticeship Program that appeals to all three user streams, while also finding a balance with the existing Manitoba Government. Choosing four main colours to represent the program and the three users allowed the website to be vibrant and maintain the clean, professional aesthetic. Additionally, sourcing stock photos of a variety of young people working in trades helped add interest and appeal.
